Haines-Tomlinson House 2026 Open Houses May 25 11 am - 2pm (Memorial Day Parade) June 14 9am - 2pm (Wine & Arts Festival - Yard Sale) December 5 4pm - 9pm (Dickens Festival) Acquired by the Medford Historical Society in 2023 with the support of Medford Township, the Haines-Tomlinson House at 51 Union Street is the oldest home in Medford Village. Known historically as both the “Haines House” and the “Tomlinson House,” it is a rare example of period architecture featured in the Library of Congress and connected to two influential Medford families. The Cross Keys Schoolhouse Step Inside a 19th-Century Classroom & Experience What School Was Like for Medford Students in the 1800s The Medford Historical Society Presents The Cross Keys One-Room School House The Cross Keys School was built circa 1857. It was one of several one-room schoolhouses that provided early schooling for the children of Medford. The school stood on a portion of a parcel of land purchased by Sam Thackara and was located at the intersection of Stokes Road and Dixontown Road where McDonald’s is currently situated. Originally commissioned by Sam Thackara and built by his brother-in-law, Lester S. Gager, the building operated as a school until 1927. After the closing in 1927, the property reverted to the Thackara family.
